R.I.P: Robin Williams

R.I.P Dear Robin Williams

I can't believe that yesterday we lost a beloved legend, Robin Williams, to depression/suicide. I grew up watching him and his movies. He was a great encouragement to me. He will most definitely be missed! <3

Dear fellow bloggers, and readers, I just want you to know that you are loved. So very very much. If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, sadness, grief, self harm, or anything else, I just want you to know that you are loved. You are worth something. You are special. So if any of you are sitting alone in your room, thinking of way to end your life, or dwelling on all the pain you feel inside, if any of you are looking for a sign, well them I'm happy to say this is it. Take this as your reason to fight one more day. Know that you are worth more than what you think. If anyone needs someone to talk to, please, I am here! Smile! Nameless

Nameless, my soul is empty...forget empty...my soul no longer exists.
There is an emptiness in me that can't be explained.
I'm worthless, I'm nothing, I'm forgotten, and that's exactly what I'm suppose to be.

I don't embrace my nothingness because that would make me strong.
I don't except it either.
I'm told what I am and that's just what I am.
You may never understand unless your told you are nothing.

You must become the nameless.
Your soul must become lost forever.
When you become the nothing that you are, then...you will be free.

Hey guys! Darcy here :) I hope you liked that little thing I wrote. The inspiration for that came from a book called The Book Of Names by D. Barkley Briggs and is the first book in a series called Legends Of Karac Tor. Here is the book description: "Magic. Ancient portals. What if the legends are true? Teen brothers Hadyn and Ewan Barlow are forced to adjust to a depressing new life when a tragedy strikes home. Then a secret viking runestone opens a door to a world in peril, and they discover a crisis larger than their own pain. In the hidden Lands of Karac Tor, names are stolen from the young and darkness spreads. Hadyn and Ewan become targets of war, forcing them to make a reluctant choice: join the battle and risk losing each other and their home forever." It is an amzing book, one I for sure recommend you read. This is one of those books that has so many little things and quotes that you wanna always remember. In fact the copy I own has a bunch of my own personal bookmarks and I've also taped some of the things onto my wall. Amazing book! I've included the text as to where I got my main inspiration for my writing.

" 'Do you have names?' He said quickly, to cover himself. 'Real names?' Grayday offered a wan smile, as if at a memory. 'Come on,' Hadyn said carefully. 'Everyone has a name. You know...what your parents named you when you were bor-'
"Names mean nothing. Names are illusions," said the leader. "I am called Shameface. But in truth, I am nameless."
"All right said Hadyn slowly. "But I don't really feel right calling you that if that's okay."
"I am nameless also," Grayday joined in. Her eyes were a cradle of wounds, her lips a plastic grin. "My parents named me something else, once. Then they sold me in the village to a fisherman who had lost his wife. He wanted a cook, a maid. He had...needs. My parents couldn't feed me, didn't care to try. They already had five mouths beside theirs and mine. I was one too many, they said. A mistake. Said I should go be somebody else s mistake, not theirs."
Solemn, matter-of-factly, she did not lower her eyes or look away. Hadyn did. But Grayday was not finished. "Hider will not tell you, but he was the son of a wealthy merchant. His father called him pig. Said he was slow, stupid. Fat. Worthless. Shameface was the son of a blacksmith in Bitterland. Trained to make pickaxes and hammers for the miners. He was a poor apprentice, made soft hammers that broke on rock. He brought shame on his father. His father cast shame upon him, as did all the village. The Bitterman take pride in their metal."
"Our old names were lies," Shameface explained in monotone. "Nemesia has given us new names. Truer names. We borrow them only to speak to one another. The new names tell a story, stripped of lying words. And we are glad."
"Birth names lie. Names of pain do not," Hinder mumbled. Grayday brushed a hair from her face. "You see, life is pain. So..." She waited for Hadyn to catch on. When he didn't reply, she finished for him. "...only the nameless escape."...........

(Shameface talking to Hadyn about his name)
"Hadyn is a name of a memory. Memory linked to hope. To hold on to your name is to always remember the falseness of that hope. You, that boy, the one named Hadyn- you are the one who has felt the sorrow of a mother dying. Hope and life promise. Lies, all of it, for they died with her. Another bot with a different name has not felt these things, because he has not borne your name. But you have, and so you are bound to that name.
Hadyn reeled. Hinder spoke softly, "Those hopes will never come true."
Grayday still wore an eerie smile. Almost singsong, she said, "The nameless are free."
As if on cue, Shameface pointed to the other prisoner. "This girl. She is rich and unwise. She thinks she is loved. She has no future. But she belives she does. What good is such a worthless one, clinging to lies? Clinging to old words and names. We have offered her truth. We offered to let her soul become lost, as ours. She refused."
Shameface scooted near the girl, who shivered at the awareness of his unfelt hand. The boy looked at Hadyn, then rolled the girl, hands bound, off the raft, into the water. His face was blank as stone. He didn't even turn to watch her writhe and kick for help.
"No!" Hadyn cried. He tried to leap to his feet, to wrench his hands free. But like the girl in the water, he was bound. As he clumsily gained his legs, Hinder slammed a knee into his stomach, doubling him over. He was clubbed again on the back of the head. Collapsing to the raft, darkness closed upon him swiftly. The last sounds he heard were that of the girl, thrashing in the water.
 Thrashing. Screaming. Then burbling silence.
And Grayday, almost sounding pleased, said, "Now she is nameless. Now she is free."

Thanks for baring with my guys through this long post, but most of all I hope you enjoyed it :)

Darkness

A nightmare...that's what it's like.
A nightmare you can't wake up from.
Wounds that never heal, the pain never seems to dull.

Madness is everywhere.
The darkness engulfs my soul.
The light is forever dimmed.

My world is taken over by demons and dark spirits.
There's no longer a heaven and hell or anywhere in between.
It's all one world now.

It's too late to undo the decisions made.
There's no more questions to ask.
The cards are on the table, the wheel of Fate has been broken.

There's no changing what's to come...what's already here...all that was once good doesn't exists anymore.
All that's left in this world and time itself is darkness...unchanging, untouchable Darkness...

I really enjoy watching Ricky's videos. I found out about him when I started watching his fellow YouTuber and friend Jc Caylen. Ricky seems like the sweetest person and can always make me laugh. I relate to a lot of what he says and he is incredibly funny.  I couldn't imagine not being able to watch his videos. My goal is to go to an event of some sort that him and the other o2l boys go to. Friday Playlist: Independence Day by 5 Seconds Of Summer

Hey guys! I know it's not Friday, but I figured since I was gone Friday and didn't get the chance to put one up I would just do it today. :) This weeks song is Independence Day by 5 Seconds Of Summer! I love this song so much! I actually heard it for the first time after I bought their new album from Target. I for sure urge all of you to go out and buy their new CD, its amazing! Every last song. These guys are a talented bunch of Aussies! This song actually has a lot of meaning to me. I know its a breakup song but I take it a little different. I relate to it because this is kinda how things have been with my friend. It kinda gave me the courage to take a step back from my best friend who wasn't really being a best friend anymore. It was like a little confidence boost. I was done being dragged around. I was done putting up with hurt just so I could keep a friend. It's time to let go. It's time to live my life for me. It's my Independence Day! :) And it sure feels good. Nothing better than a good song to help you through those moments in life when you're confused or hurt.
So I hope you like this weeks Playlist song! The link to listen to the song is below, just click it to watch. Plus Ive included the lyrics themselves right under the link! :)

                Independence Day Video

Ooooh Ooooh
You're telling the same old story
And that I need to change
If you're not living my life for me
You make it feel that way
You know you know
We're losing control
I gotta pick way
And nothing's gonna change
You've got to go
It's the end of the road
No matter what you do or say

Baby you're not what I need
I'm over this
I'm over you
I'm not gonna waste my life away
This is my independence day
I'm moving on there's no excuse
And I can't take away your pain
This is my independence day (x2)

Suddenly my picture is looking perfect
Since you're not in the frame
And deep down I never meant to hurt you
But you're the one to blame
You know you know
We're losing control
Before it's too late I'm making my escape
Now that I'm gone you're on your own
No matter what you do or say

Baby you're not what I need
I'm over this
I'm over you
I'm not gonna waste my life away
This is my independence day
I'm moving on there's no excuse
And I can't take away your pain
This is my independence day

Wouldn't it be nice
If it could've worked out right for us
I know you fight for all we had
But it didn't feel right
Heart down our sleeves
We lost tonight
And there's no looking back

I'm over this
I'm over you
I'm not gonna waste my life away
This is my independence day
I'm moving on there's no excuse
And I can't take away your pain
This is my independence day

Wouldn't it be nice
If it would've worked out right for us
There's no looking back
This is my independence day (x2)

Starting Fresh

Hey guys! So today I just wanted to talk to you guys about a couple things. First one being I'm sorry I don't put up new things every week, but I just get so busy(and honestly lazy) to sit down and write something. I hope you guys will forgive me. I really want to get back to blogging every week. And that's another thing I wanted to talk to you guys about: I think I'm going to start doing more than just reviews. I believe I will keep the site name the same and everything, but I want to start just doing blog post so you guys can get to know me a little more and so I can get to know you guys! :) I'll also just be putting up some of my poems and just little things I write. So I hope you guys are okay with that :)
And the last thing I wanted to talk to you guys about was my YouTube videos. Ive recently started getting into singing and I put up a couple covers on YouTube already. So just go look me up as Darcy Quinn if you want to take a listen. Leave me comments and let me know what you think! I would LOVE feedback from you lovely people!
So I guess that all I have for today! I hope to be back soon! :)

P.S. I'm trying to come up with a cool outro for all my post and videos, so leave me some ideas below! :)

My Poem (also my "I'm sorry")

Wow guys! I am so so so so sorry! I haven't posted a review in FOREVER, but I hope to get one out to you guys soon. If you have any ideas on what you would like to see a review on let me know in the comments below. I would love to hear from you guys. Who knows, maybe you guys will even recommend something Ive never heard of before and I will gain a new favorite! Also let me know what you think of the items I post about. Give me your opinion. I wanna know what everything thinks and feels about certain songs or books or even shows. But anyway, this is just a little poem I wrote when I got bored. Its not a review or anything but I hope you like it just the same. Also my feelings about love aren't really like this. This is just how a lot of my free writing ends up. So don't take this the wrong way. :)

     Time stands still.
My heart becomes like shattered glass.
My breathing slows.
And in this moment, I know the nature of my reality.
Nothing is the same anymore.
Nothing can ever be the same again.

   Do you believe in love?
If so, I caution you dear friend.
It hurts.
It takes.
It destroys.
It leaves you in ruins.
Once you are shattered, you never can rebuild.
No matter how hard you try, and trust me, I have.

What makes us believe in love in the first place?
Is it the beautiful lie we are told that love completes you?
Or that love is a force so strong that it can conquer all?
Well, maybe that last part isn't such a lie.
Love does conquer all.
It conquers your soul.
It conquers and takes control of your life.
You are left with a numb feeling inside you.
You no longer have control.
You become the living dead.

At first love can be amazing.
It can be powerful.
It can transform you into someone or something you never could have imagined.
It feels freeing.
But do not be sucked into something so evil yet so sweetly coated.
Hold to the things you can control.
My dear friend, I do not say these words to scare you but simply to ensure that the ends of time do not unravel your future.
For love holds power.
A power no man can wield.
